A-Series Chip Update
It's time for an update to the current Apple TV 4K, which employs the A15 Bionic CPU from the iPhone 13 range. Apple uses chips from the iPhone rather than designing chips especially for the Apple TV.
In order to incorporate Apple Intelligence capabilities into the Apple TV, the upcoming model will have at least 8GB of RAM and an A17 Pro or above.
Given that a new, more intelligent version of Siri is a component of Apple Intelligence, it makes sense for the Apple TV. On the Apple TV, Siri has always been a special focus, and Apple encourages customers to ask Siri for material to watch.
Because the A17 Pro enables hardware-accelerated ray tracing, it would also enable better console-style games. Console games like Resident Evil 4 and Death Stranding are compatible with the iPhone and iPad, and they will probably be playable on the upcoming Apple TV as well.
6E Wi-Fi
It is anticipated that Apple will utilise a proprietary Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chip for the 4K Apple TV. When available, the chip's compatibility for Wi-Fi 6E will enable the Apple TV to connect to faster 6GHz networks.
Both a Wi-Fi only and a Wi-Fi + Ethernet variant are now available from Apple, and the next-generation model may carry on this tradition. Additionally, the upcoming Apple TV might support Bluetooth 5.3.
When utilised as a home hub for smart home devices, the Apple TV is anticipated to maintain Thread integration and Matter support. Since the 6GHz band usually offers more bandwidth and less signal interference, Wi-Fi 6E may theoretically improve connectivity for smart home devices.
Create
It appears that Apple has no intention of redesigning the Apple TV. The next-generation Apple TV will keep using the same slimmed-down black plastic casing as the present device, so we're not anticipating any form factor changes.
Cost
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has been speculating that Apple may release a less expensive Apple TV, with a price point of less than $100 being the "sweet spot." The existing model is more likely to be available and be offered at a discount, even though Apple may reduce the price of the new model.
The price of the current Apple TV with 64GB of storage is $129.
Date of Launch
We anticipate an update for the Apple TV sometime in late 2025, most likely in September or October.
